Aleksandar Mladenovski, CEO of the Free Zones Authority, signed an agreement today with Germany’s Kessler realizing their investment in the Skopje 1 free zone.

According to the agreement, the company will be able to use construction land with an area of 1.3 hectares, and based on company announcements, plant construction is intended to take place in two phases in which the production of electric motors will be carried out. The framework of the agreement foresees the establishment of a center aimed at joint and engineering services, as well as the development of new products from Kessler in Macedonia.

Kessler announced plans to start operating in late 2018, and production will be for the German market. At least 80 jobs are planned for the next three years, employing mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as other highly qualified personnel. Kessler have already contacted institutions of higher education in Macedonia, and plan to cooperate with technical high schools as well. The company also intends to collaborate with domestic suppliers for the procurement of raw materials needed for its production.

As a manufacturer of tools and systems for machining and grinding, electric motors, parts for CNC machines, and industrial electronics, Kessler has over 90 years of tradition. This is its first investment outside the home country and will be the first factory of its kind in Macedonia.
